Sarah has more than 20 years’ experience in ecology and biodiversity-related technical, strategic and policy advice, research, environmental effects assessment, project management and supervision of technical staff.
She has provided technical and strategic advice in energy, mining, military, land development and infrastructure sectors, and has provided strategic and management advice to local authorities and the Department of Conservation.
Having worked in a range of terrestrial and wetland ecosystems throughout New Zealand, Sarah has planned, coordinated and implemented vegetation and habitat surveys, monitoring programmes, environmental effects assessments, management and restoration plans.
Sarah is an experienced expert witness and has presented evidence in numerous council and Environment Court hearings, including participation in expert caucusing. She also holds a doctorate in Environmental Science for research on forest litter decomposition processes.
