Boffa Miskell has delivered a Draft Reserve Management plan for Lindvart Park in Kaikohe to the Far North District Council (FNDC).
The draft plan, now under consultation, was prepared in association with Council staff and Kaikohe and Districts Sportsville. It considers current trends and demand in sport and recreational activities; and contains an action plan that allows FNDC and the community to prioritise and implement the requirements for facilities. Additionally, the draft plan reflects Lindvart Park’s history, environmental and geological factors, and input from local residents.
Community engagement included an interactive consultation day at the park in late 2017.
Project manager Lisa Mein says “The engagement process informed the draft plan; and the consultation process is another opportunity for residents to have their say about how they want the park to be used. An up-to-date Reserve Management Plan allows the use of Lindvart Park to be well-managed and guided by what the community wants. It will allow for further development of Lindvart Park so that a greater number of residents can enjoy the space.”
