Optimizing visitor experience through interaction and education
Boffa Miskell was engaged by Karori Wildlife Sanctuary Trust to prepare a masterplan for the Sanctuary. The purpose of the masterplan was to optimize the visitor experience through interaction and education.
Several small projects were identified in the masterplan and constructed. These include a floating pontoon walkway, heritage interpretation and native fish interpretative tank, and rationalisation of walking tracks in the lower valley. In the upper valley, a viewing platform, and covered seating and assembling area have been constructed. Other features include bridges which replace culverts , and a swingbridge connecting popular tracks across a sub-valley.
Boffa Miskell is also involved with the Visitor Centre construction in reducing the impacts of construction on the surrounding environment.
