Designing a new facility that complements the existing streetscape
Boffa Miskell was engaged to design the external works and street frontage for Lifecare Residences Ltd’s Remuera Rise retirement village which opened mid-2013.
Our landscape architects prepared a concept plan and detailed design for both the ground level and level 1 terrace areas, which also included an accessible amenity space. The landscape design was developed to use elements that complement the existing streetscape and visually tie this development to the overall concept for Broadway Park and adjacent apartment buildings.
A paved outdoor patio space is provided at the northern face of the building and planting has been designed to provide screening and visual interest along the boundary. The use of the retaining wall as a canvas to provide a ‘greenwall’ ensures the western elevation of the building has a pleasant outlook.
