Opinion: Are invasive species being taken seriously, or are poor decisions costing the country? >
Pete’s skills and knowledge of pest management are a result of various roles managing both invasive plant and animal species within New Zealand and Australia. Since joining Boffa Miskell in 2015, Pete has been involved in delivering biosecurity services for Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), the Mid Dome Wilding Conifer Control Programme and research and management of Bennett’s wallaby in low density areas.
Pete has extensive knowledge of invasive species ecology, control tools and techniques for effective control. He is responsible for assessing sites and engaging appropriate contractors to carry out pest control to comply with regional pest management plans. Pete is skilled in initial site assessment and stakeholder consultation, contractor management and audits, mapping, reporting, and ensuring programmes are effective and within budget.
