Kaihoahoa Whenua | Landscape Architect
Kaihere | Associate Partner

I am an Associate Partner and currently lead the Landscape Architecture Design discipline within the company. I have over 20 years’ New Zealand and international experience in the design and delivery of high-quality public realms and landscapes. My diverse portfolio encompasses public realm developments, parks, residential and commercial spaces, mixed-use projects, and educational environments of varying scales and budgets.

My career trajectory started with Buildings Architecture in Tokyo Japan, where I had the privilege of being taught by Kazuyo Sejima. This experience ignited my passion for creating responsive and integrated environments that blend the principles of both architecture and landscape design. Each of my designs draws inspiration from the local context, character, people, nature, and historical significance of a site.

My recent and ongoing work for Boffa Miskell includes leading the transformation of Otahuhu Town Centre, Federal Street, Bledisloe Lane, Emily Place, 10 Madden Street, Sylvia Park public realm, and 3 Te Kehu Way.

As the Landscape Architecture Technical Lead, I am responsible for the oversight, development, and implementation of Boffa Miskell's national strategies and action plans.

I am bilingual (Japanese and English), worked in London for five years, and am well-travelled yet enjoy exploring new places and cultures.
