Seven Design Awards for Rawhiti Estate

Local and international recognition for design excellence.

Rawhiti Estate, a senior living community in Remuera, Auckland, has won seven national and international design awards, including First Place in the International category of the 2020 Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Awards.

Nominated projects in the SHN Architecture & Design Awards were judged by a panel of industry experts to identify the latest cutting-edge designs across 10 categories, including: Assisted Living, Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Independent Living, International, Skilled Nursing / Post-Acute Care and Stand-alone Memory Care.

Rawhiti Estate was the second-place winner in the Continuing Care Retirement Community category.

We were involved with the project from the outset, working with our client, BeGroup NZ Limited, and the wider project team. Our input included the urban design analysis, landscape and visual assessment. Boffa Miskell landscape architects developed the landscape detailed design package and provided input during construction and implementation.

In addition to the Senior Housing News awards, Rawhiti Estate took home a Merit Award for Multi-Unit Residential at the 2020 PCNZ Property Industry Awards; and Honourable Mention in four categories (Urban Design, Multi-Unit Residential, Residential Landscape Architecture and Outdoor Designs) at the Architecture Masterprize awards.
