Adding value to Crown land through effective project management and expert advice

Boffa Miskell was engaged in 2009 to provide biosecurity services to LINZ. In 2014 LINZ and Boffa Miskell formed a Strategic Biosecurity Partnership, with the aim of focussing on innovative solutions to achieve our biosecurity goals.
Our day-to-day works involves significant project management of biosecurity operations across New Zealand to ensure LINZ is compliant with Regional Pest Management Plans and other statutory documents, and to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to enable more efficient and effective biosecurity outcomes. As part of the services, our consultants manage an array of contracts such as helicopter spraying of terrestrial and aquatic weeds, commercial divers performing aquatic weed removal and rabbit contractors carrying out night shooting. Additionally, we secure resource consents, review statutory documents and prepare submissions on behalf of LINZ.
The Partnership enables us to deliver other pieces of bespoke work for LINZ, including carrying out ecological impact assessments, capturing imagery using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s) and producing landscape concept designs to add value to key sites. We provide planning advice to Tenure Review pastoral leases, draw up management plans for the long term management of invasive species and invest in innovative technologies and solutions to deliver better biosecurity outcomes.
