A safe living environment with clear links to the wider community

Landscape design for a new build complex catering for 27 families. A safe living environment with clear wayfinding links to the wider community is provided. Private living spaces and a central slow zone for shared vehicle/pedestrian use is monitored by residents in the housing units. Included provision of vegetable gardens and a communal orchard. The site has poor ground conditions that required specialist ground work and retaining walls. Stormwater collected off the main drive is directed across the central grass area to partially treat and detain water during intense rain events.
