St Kentigern Specialist Classroom and Senior Boys Building

Outdoor spaces complement the building and work with the existing features of the site

This project is significant in scale as it involves the removal of existing buildings and some trees and the development of a new three storey classroom block designed by Architectus. The classroom block is to house Senior Boys classrooms at the northern end and Specialist Classrooms at the southern end. The Specialist classrooms are to be shared use with the Girl’s School which it is planned to shift from its existing site to an adjacent location within the St Kentigern Shore Road site. Our role was to design the landscape and outdoor activities spaces associated with the development.

The landscape developed retains as many of the existing trees as practical, which allows the new building to sit alongside the field with existing mature trees wrapping up to it. We provided deck areas, hard surfaces and marking for ball games, table tennis tables and a free-flowing development to allow easy access to the field.

The landscape and outdoor activity spaces complement the building and work with the existing features of the site, including the interface with the field and beautiful mature trees; developing robust spaces and activities suitable within a Boys School.
