Designing an inclusive, accessible facility at Logan Park, now a popular spot for local football and rugby teams.

Following on from the development of a master plan for Logan Park, Boffa Miskell was engaged to prepare landscape plans and specifications for the implementation of the ancillary works around two new artificial turf sports fields at the Dunedin sports hub.

Boffa Miskell prepared concept design and detailed documentation for the project and then oversaw the construction of the site works.

A key aspect of the project was to design an inclusive, accessible facility that was open to the public, whilst still protecting the asset from vandalism.

The artificial turves are very popular with the public and are well-used by the surrounding student population. A range of grades of football are played at Logan Park and the artificial turves are also used by the Highlanders rugby team for training and as the home ground of the Dunedin City Royals.

The project team worked closely with the Dunedin City Council and the contractors to bring the design to fruition and ensure the success of the project.
