The Wawata Estate project involved developing an estate on Waiheke Island with outstanding views of the ocean.

The client sought comprehensive planning, landscape architectural, and ecological services to fulfil the requirements of the Resource Consent Decision and address specific conditions related to the property.

The project aimed to create a well-designed and environmentally conscious development, incorporating appropriate landscape elements, fauna management plans and ecological considerations, while ensuring compliance with consent conditions and optimising collaboration with council officers and other stakeholders.

Boffa Miskell provided applied our multi-disciplinary expertise in coordinating and advising on meeting the conditions of consent, preparing landscape plans, managing fauna and lizard management plans, conducting surveys for birds and pests, and designing architectural and landscape controls for buildings and individual sites. We assisted in the preliminary design, developed design, detailed design, contract administration, and technical observation stages, ensuring compliance with consent conditions and delivering cost-effective and timely solutions.

It was an opportunity to work across all our disciplines integrating planning, landscape architecture, and ecological services to meet the conditions of consent and create a harmonious balance between development and the natural environment.
