Kaimātai Hauropi | Ecologist
Kaiarataki | Professional
I'm new to the ecology profession after completing a short-term contract working in biosecurity with the Northland Regional Council and two years studying towards a Bachelor of Science, specialising in Biodiversity Management (study still in progress).
Prior to embarking on a career in environmental sciences, I spent more than two decades working in the horticulture and landscaping industries. For most of that time, I ran a landscaping business focusing on residential and small-scale commercial jobs.
I have experience working with community groups in the Whangārei area helping with pest control, bird, invertebrate and reptile monitoring, and am currently on the committee for Matakohe Limestone Island.
