Kaihoahoa Whenua | Landscape Architect
Pouwhiri | Principal
My experience and skill set encompasses all design stages from masterplanning through to detail and implementation management, and everything in between. I usually work in complex rural, urban and social spaces across a variety of projects, and I have a proven track record for leading design and multi-disciplinary teams to successful outcomes.
I firmly believe that all stages of the design process have equal importance, in order to achieve a truly cohesive and creative response. The more we can be helped through that journey by those that know the land, the richer the outcome will be. I'm passionate about setting up and working through collaborative and trust-based design processes to foster creativity and innovation.
I'm a qualified horticulturalist and self-diagnosed dendrophile (tree admirer), which provides me a foundational plant knowledge and a deep respect for the natural environmental systems.
The clients I work with are evenly split between a wide range of local authorities for public spaces, playgrounds, parks and reserves; and private developers for retirement villages, subdivisions and spatial planning. I've been involved with projects across Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland.
