Reconsenting the existing overburden site; providing feasibility advice and consenting pathways on new overburden sites.

Atlas Quarries have operated Brynderwyn Quarry for over 60 years, supplying aggregate to the building, roading and construction markets. The site is surrounded by forestry and native vegetation.

Overburden sites are an ongoing development required to continue quarry operations. Boffa Miskell was engaged to reconsent the existing overburden site and tasked with providing advice on the resource consenting feasibility of future overburden sites.

Boffa Miskell was able to secure replacement resource consents and provide ecology, planning and landscape advice on the feasibility of future overburden sites. The works were carefully timed to meet consent expiry timeframes, while also enabling Atlas to continue to meet their operational needs.

Boffa Miskell continued to provide ongoing RMA planning advice and ecology advice and support for the Brynderwyn Quarry. The Ecology team is managing the implementation of the wildlife permits associated with the site operations.
